FYD empowers young men to become successful socially, emotionally, and academically and to prepare for life during and after high school by promoting the following objectives:
1.Young men will be prepared for post-secondary success
2.Young men will practice safe and healthy behaviors
3.Young men will increase confidence
4.Young men will learn valuable decision making skills
5.Young men will increase advocacy, self-efficacy, and self-worth
6.Young men will experience social-emotional well being.
WHO IS FYD:
Today’s youth face many obstacles. Community violence and other stressors create at-risk environments where making positive life choices can feel impossible. It’s easy for young men, particularly from disadvantaged communities, to become angry and afraid. It’s easy for them to follow negative influences that lead to serious trouble. It’s easy for them to drop out of school and contribute to the perpetual cycle of prison enrollment.
In 2016, the Follow Your Dream (FYD) program was launched to help young men ascertain their respective dreams despite their external environment and internal insecurities. Program founders Vincent E. Gray and Brian C. Kizer Sr. over a casual lunch discussed the pandemic problems in their communities that span from senseless murder to disheartening statistics that claim certain young men are antithetical and oppositional to being intellectual. This negative narrative provoked Vincent and Brian to create a program that highlight young men strengths and aspirations.
FYD focuses on developing young men social and emotional development in conjunction with providing them with the 21st century skills necessary to become successful in the years to come. Now in its 2nd year, the FYD program plans to serve more than 50 youth in 5 schools this fiscal year.

The greatest threat to being all you can be is satisfaction with who you are. Life is about development and increase. The male adolescent present and future depends on his ability to dream big than he can possibly achieve. There is staggering research that suggest that the job market will be saturated with entrepreneurs. In order to keep up with the times, FOLLOW YOUR DREAM is dedicated to helping young men ascertain their hidden gifts, gems, and purpose in life.
Our jingle FOLLOW YOUR DREAM encapsulates the daily grind, grit, and strength it takes to become successful. We teach young men that the future is the present and evolution is not optional. During the course of 7 weeks young men will learn how to strategies listed below:

4. Stop running from your OWN SHADOW
5. How to succeed in school
